The New River Valley Triathlon has been a dream in the works since 2007.
A charity fund-raising event, the first beneficiary of the New River Valley Triathlon will be the Mental Health Association of the New River Valley, Inc.
The New River Valley Triathlon is a project of New River Valley Community Events, Incorporated, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization incorporated in the Commonwealth of Virginia on September 18, 2008.
New River Valley Community Events, Incorporated facilitates community-generated, community-enhancing events for residents of, and visitors to, the New River Valley of Virginia. The events are designed to bring opportunities for joy in the moment and inspiration for the future. In particular, the goal of the corporation is to create experiences that inspire participants to dream of new possibilities for themselves and for others. The events may be, but are not limited to, athletic, recreational, educational, artistic, cultural, and health-oriented in nature.
A race and course description will be on the site of the triathlon production company with whom we’ve contracted to operate the event, Set Up Events.
We welcome sponsorship of the New River Valley Triathlon. While entry fees make the event self-supporting, the greater the sponsorships, the more our benefiting charity receives.
An interesting feature of our event is the Valley Cup Corporate Relay Challenge.
