2009 SET UP EVENTS - On-line Registration Information
Thank you for racing with Set Up Events in 2008. We look forward to having you race with us again in 2009! We are writing today to provide you some valuable information regarding registration for the majority of the 2009 Set Up Events schedule. Please take the time to read through this brief email BEFORE you register for any 2009 Set Up event.
REGISTRATION OPENS
Registration for all 2009 Set Up events will open beginning January 1, 2009 through January 10, 2009. Simply go to www.setupevents.com to find out the exact date each event on the schedule will open. You will note that each event may have a different opening date and time. Make sure you know when the events you wish to register for open.
UPDATE YOUR PROFILE
To save yourself time and to lessen the load on the registration system during the initial registration period we strongly suggest you update all your user profile information BEFORE January 1, 2009. To update your profile information simply follow the link below.
UPDATE YOUR USER PROFILE INFORMATION
You will be asked to log in to the system using your current user profile and password. If you do not know this information there is a "Forgotten your password or username?" option BELOW the login area. Simply enter the email used when you created your user profile and hit the Retrieve Password button.
(Note: If you used the same email address for multiple usernames, the system will only send one of the athlete's information)
If for any reason you can not log on using your user name and password, and the Password Retrieval system does not work for you, simply create a new user profile.
PARTICIPANT LISTS
Due to high demands and loads placed on the registration system during the initial registration period we will be deactivating the participant lists on each event page from January 1, 2009 until January 10, 2009. Each time a participant list is opened it must sort through the entire data base. Obviously this causes a large load to be placed on the system as thousands of athletes begin checking the participant lists.
Participant lists for all events will be reactivated on January 11, 2009.
RECEIPTS AND CONFIRMATION
As stated the Participant Lists will be disabled between January 1 and January 10, 2009. Thus, the participant lists will not be a viable way to confirm your registration. The best way to confirm your registration for the event before January 10, 2009 will be simply to verify the fact you have paid. If you have paid for the event (money has been taken out of your account) and/ or you received an email confirmation confirming your registration, you are registered.
Please do not email us asking if you are in. Check your bank statements or your inbox for payment details to confirm your entry into the events.
SERVER UPGRADE
We are aware of the issues experienced by many of you during the initial registration period in 2008. Thus, we have taken several steps to prevent such issues in 2009. In 2009 we will have a much larger server dedicated to our registration site (4 times as large as used in 2008 and much faster). Also, the disabling of participant lists will decrease the server loads by a great deal. We are very much expecting a much smoother 2009 opening than we have seen in the past.
With that said, please realize the huge amount of traffic we will see at www.SetUpEvents.com during the first weeks of January. This traffic increase will cause the site to be slower than normal.
